Even though we are more connected in the Digital Age than ever before, genuine human connection is lacking. Rates of anxiety, depression, and disconnection continue to climb, especially among younger populations.  

Cascadia Mystery School is a Pacific Northwest community devoted to education, seasonal celebration, and Earth connection. We are here to find the trails to cultivate self-reliance and deepen your relationship to the land around you.

We host gatherings that offer alternative perspectives on modern life-ways and our place in the Earth’s ecosystem. By examining how we approach basic needs like food, health and spiritual connection, we can make choices that feel aligned with our values. We aim to share practices and wisdom that are sustainable and life-affirming.

These events invite you to slow down, celebrate what the Earth has to offer and connect with others looking for a grounded connection to Earth-based living.

We celebrate the modern Celtic Wheel of the Year, which includes the traditional Celtic holidays, solstices and equinoxes. During these communal gatherings, we explore traditional and modern folklore and ritual practices. Through these experiences, we remember ancestral European life-ways that connect with the Earth and spirit.

Envisioning a world where people are empowered and connected through myth, food and the natural rhythm of the land.

Hosted by local teachers and wisdom keepers, seasonal workshops offer hands-on learning and shared experience, from fall vegetable fermentation classes to a winter Endarkment Ceremony to storytelling gatherings around the fire. Whatever the season calls for, there's a place for you here.

We are on a journey of discovery in an age where everything seems to be coming apart and together at the same time. Many of us are being called to grow new systems out of the old, extractive crumbling ones. Regenerative, place-based culture is asking to be woven and Cascadia Mystery School is the loom.

Based in Oregon

We reside on the traditional homelands of the Multnomah, Clackamas, and Watlala bands of the Chinook, as well as the Tualatin Kalapuya. Portland was founded at the confluence of the Wa'lúmt (Willamette) and Wimahl (Columbia) Rivers, where generations of Chinookan tribes made their home for thousands of years. In the mid 19th century, these tribes and many others in southern Oregon, were forcibly removed to under-resourced, militarized reservations in central Oregon (Source: The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde).

As we look back to claim our indigenous European ancestral traditions, we must look, with eyes wide open, at the horrors committed towards the original stewards of these lands. We cannot change the past, but we can build a future where the original land keepers are supported, valued and included.

Cascadia is a bioregion that stretches along the Northwest Pacific coast of North America, starting in northern California and all the way up the coast to Alaska and Parts of British Columbia.

“Bioregionalism” is an ecological and cultural philosophy that emphasizes the importance of defining human activities and societies in relation to natural ecosystems and geographies, rather than adhering to arbitrary political or administrative borders. We integrate this philosophy when we recognize where our water comes from, how wildfires are a part of this delicate ecosystem and the unique energetic signature of Cascadia’s Wheel of the Year.

Defined as “the collective manifestation of multiple secure connection constellations creating positive and sustainable feedback loops of attuned attachment, holding space for simultaneous emotional regulation and presence.”
